How many times does the monks and preachers quest come up before it completes? I've done it 3(4?) times now, with up to two years inbetween the quest appearing. I'd really like to finish it so I can get my queen, but I wonder if the problem is that I'm on the christian wife quest path with an old faith king/kingdom. (I accidentally invaded Wales to try and complete the children quest in book 2, so I never had a chance to ally with them) Even so, I'm almost finished with book 4 and this quest is still going on.

it will only stop if you construct a catedral....in that way the saxons will stop send these quest....at least worked for me xD

Obs:but beware that if you consctruct a catredal the saxons will start a civil war.... o.O
