 Re: Low performance.
Perhaps.. But I do not have smaller screens here, my sister has the same as me resolution wise, and I trew away all my old CTR since my basement is also very damp =( I am gonna try turning off Crossfire completly now.
Also tried Cataclysm 10.4 and 10.6, 10.6 doesn't really install properly, screen remains black when it starts to flicker when installing and doesn't change back, so tried 10.4 and I got worse performance, when the enemy or myself uses the night/day spell the fps drops to 8 for a few seconds and then goes back again and when daylight sets in again the same happends..
I wonder, does the game support the new highend CPU's?
*edit* nope changing to no crossfire didn't work either, nor did disabling EAX, hmz I guess I should hope for a wonder then it suddently works again, but I doubt it. Suchs a damn shame!
Searched the net for some more:
Guru3D;
''Yeah to be honest I think it has a lot of potential but the performance is just so poor it keeps me from playing it. If they fix that I'll be all over it. '' 12-06-2009
''found the performance to be fine, need to check again though after reading the above but I don't remember the framerate being especially low, nor do I remember any stuttering from my first playtrough. (Even before the recent patch which supposedly improves things a bit.)
EDIT: Aha, I'm used to lower framerate values so I didn't notice it but checking with FRAPS does show that the campaign map FPS fluctuates between 70 FPS (Emptier regions.) down to 45 or so FPS (Forests and such.) whereas the battle map performance can range from 50 FPS (Zoomed out.) down to 35 or so (Zoomed in fully.) which is rather low. (Though driver optimizations will help improve this eventually I'm certain, game doesn't have a profile yet for either NVIDIA or ATI for what I know.)'' 12-06-2009 ( funny cause I get MAX 40 fps on the world map )
Random site:
''no crashes but performance is really a big problem..
Q9400 CPU 8GB ram Windows 7 64bit Nvidia 285
around 25-40 FPS :/ '' 28-11-2009
I can go on and on ^^ Is there no way we can get official support ? I mean such a great game could be so much better if it works!

 Re: Low performance.
Only way I know is to send an email with all details, and hope they have a look at it. Include dixdiag, driver info, display info, the works.

 Re: Low performance.
Sadly no response yet, and I always wonder if they do since most of the time if not always they blame the persone/computer instead of there own engine/game. But wonders haven't left the world yet, so I keep hoping, gonna try catalyst 10.2 now too since I saw one of your post saying you used it without issues =) nope no differents between 10.2

 Re: Low performance.
Only thing I can think of is there's some issue with having dual cards that we can't see, as your system looks quite capable as it is. Did you write them and tell them about the issue? I know most of Europe is in vacation mode at the moment though....

 Re: Low performance.
Yes I sended them a mail, vacation ftl! They cant go on one when they haven't fixed the performance issues since 2009! ^^
10.2 seems to be a bit more stable, fps drops to 10-12 instead of 8 (always 8 ) when fog of avalon is active or something like that, and Dual card can't be the issue because disabling crossfire is basicly having only one card in the pc.. got a launcher.exe crash more frequently now too, the more turns the worse it seems to get... and I just won a hard battle with the enemy being 80% cavelry!

 Re: Low performance.
They still have not replied yet, but I want to thank you for showing interest and trying to help.
I stopped playing by now because even though it is a fun game, it just drains the fun out when you can't enjoy the battle scenes because of the sloppy performance.

The Catalyst 10.7 drivers came out just now though, maybe it won't matter, but you could try. And I guess you already installed DirectX 9.0c June redistribution to update DX9?

 Re: Low performance.
I did, no difference with both of them, I even think that each new ATI driver performance gets a small hit, 10.4 being the best, 40~ fps on the map, 10.7 25-28 at the map...
